Eileen Neenan, a nursing sister arrived in the Territory in 1939 and worked at the Darwin Hospital. She was awarded with the Member of the Order of the British Empire for her brave conduct during the Japanese bombing raids on Darwin. Her future husband, Harold Elcock came to the Territory in 1936 and worked as an engineer for the Commonwealth Government. Both Eileen and Harold were active in the post War rebuilding of Darwin. In 1951, they moved to South Australia and took up farming and established a construction company.
